Originally from New Jersey, Theresa has lived in New York City and Montreal and currently resides in Gulf Breeze Florida where she has a studio in her home. Theresa’s passion for painting developed during her early childhood years and has carried her through to the present. Art has always been her first love but other jobs have included work as a governess, a waitress and a cab driver in New York City. She studied at the Art Students League and was selected to represent her town as an Artist-in-Residence in Bergen County New Jersey. Theresa currently teaches Plein Air painting at Pensacola Junior College and is a member of The Arts Council of Northwest Florida. Theresa's painting "Gulf Islands National Seashore" was recently selected for inclusion in The Federal Reserve Board Art Collection and is on permanent exhibition in the New Orleans Branch Office of the Federal Reserve Bank.
It has been said about her work that it possesses a lifeful other worldly quality that leaves the viewer refreshed with a sense of positive energy. The artist states “ It constantly amazes me that there are so many beautiful pieces of light and shape and color that fill the senses when looking at even the most simple of things. When I paint, I try to bring to others the thrill I experience when I view all these life affirming bits of creation all around. The most valuable lesson I’ve learned along the way is that the most successful work occurs when “I” is left out of the process and the essence of what is painted is allowed to emerge untainted by ego.”
